[edit] 1 Network Numbers

Net2MAX is the world's first and so far only service that allows the user to define his or her own network numbers, so they (rather than the network they use) have complete control over the phone numbers they dial.

[edit] 1.1 Country Code 899

Net2MAX platform has reserve the international country code 899 for the representation of all phones reachable from the internet.

Internet phone numbers on the Net2MAX platform are all under the country code of 899 and with the format 899xxxyyyyyy. The first 3 digits after 899 is always the network number number (xxx) of a specfic network and the digits (yyyyyy) after the network number (xxx) is the phone number of a specific phone on that network.

[edit] 1.2 Network Number Types

Net2MAX Members can define their own 3 digit network numbers, so they can dial almost any network they like. For these Member Defined Network Numbers, zeros (0) are not allowed in those 3 digits .

The Net2MAX Platform has predefined some Network Numbers to major networks for the use of all members. All Platform Defined Network Numbers have one or more zeros in them.

[edit] 2 Member Defined Network Numbers

Net2MAX Members can define their own network numbers (xxx) for the phone networks they want to dial to using the Web Dialer. As mentioend before, Member Defined Network Numbers CANNOT contain any zeros (0).

[edit] 2.1 Network Address

Most phone key-pads do NOT allow you to enter alphanumeric character (like a-z) easily. With this feature, you can assign a Network Number of your choice to any alphanumeric Network Address (like @sip.oneclickcontact.com).

From then on, you can dial any phone number with that alphanumeric Network Address, from the numeric-only key-pad of your phone, by putting in Network Number instead of the alphanumeric Network Address.

For example, for to ring the internet phone number 612123456@sip.whatever.com, you can define the Network Address sip.oneclickcontact.com to have the Network Number of 123. Then you can make a call to 612123456@sip.oneclickcontact.com at any time by entering 899123612123456. There is no need for a alphanumeric key-pad any more.

In fact after only one definition for 123, now you can ring ANY phone number on the @sip.whatever.com by dialling 899123 in front of that number.

[edit] 2.2 VoIP Account

You can assign a network number of your choice to any VoIP account you want to use.

There are new VoIP service providers coming every month (each claiming better prices and/or quality), to take advantage

[edit] 2.3 Web Dialer

You can assign a network number of your choice to the Web Dialers of members who offer their Web Dialers to you.

[edit] 2.4 VoIP Devices

You can assign a network number of your choice to VoIP Devices.

[edit] 3 Platform Defined Network Numbers

All network numbers with one or more 0 (zeros) belong to the Net2MAX platform, so the users cannot define those themselves.

Using predefined Network Numbers is the small as using member defined network numbers, just add them AFTER 899 and before the phone numbers on that network.

For example:

  1. 899099johnsmith will dial the phone of the person with Skype name of johnsmith on the Skype phone network (with network number 099).
  2. 89901261290112121 will dial the phone number 61290112121 in Sydney, Australia on the Premium Rate phone network (with network number 012).

Note, if you are using Local Dial Format (instead of the default Universal Dial Format) then you have to follow the rules you set for your local city, if you are in Sydney it will be 89901290112121 and if you are overseas it will be 899012001161290112121.

2 - the phone number 899002 is used as an Caller ID (ANI) to indicate to the receiver (normally Web PABX) that the call comes from the Net2MAX Call Me service.

[edit] 3.2.2 Net2MAX VoIP Network (060)

VoIP devices on the Net2MAX VoIP network will get an Internet Number with 060 as the network number (899060xxx where xxx is the Account Number.

For example, 899060290112121.

The 060 number has been in use since 1997. Besides SIP, IAX, Soft-Dial and Web Phone devices are also using it. Members can configure what type of VoIP device is behind their 899060 number using the web at any time.

[edit] 3.2.3 Net2MAX Trail Network (070)

Currently assigned to Taiwan VoIP network for testing.

[edit] 3.3 External Networks

[edit] 3.3.1 Google Talk Network (091)

To dial to a Google Talk address (googletalkuser@googletalkdomain.com) put an entry in your Quick Dial under your Web Dialer.

For example, to dial mrsmith@gmail.com, assign 899091mrsmith@gmail.com with a Quick Dial number of "899091123" or simply "123", then just enter 899092123 or 123 in your phone to ring mrsmith@gmail.com on his Google Talk client.

[edit] 3.3.2 MSN Live Messenger Network (092)

To dial to a MSN address (msnuser@msndomain.com) put an entry in your Quick Dial under your Web Dialer.

For example, to dial mrsmith@hotmail.com, assign 899092mrsmith@hotmail.com with a Quick Dial number of "899092123" or simply "123", then just enter 899092123 or 123 in your phone to ring mrsmith@hotmail.com on his MSN Live Messenger.

[edit] 3.3.3 Yahoo Messenger Network (093)

To dial to a Yahoo address (yahoouser@yahoodomain.com) put an entry in your Quick Dial under your Web Dialer.

For example, to dial mrsmith@yahoo.com, assign 899093mrsmith@yahoo.com with a Quick Dial number of "899093123" or simply "123", then just enter 899093123 or 123 in your phone to ring mrsmith@yahoo.com on his Yahoo Messenger.

[edit] 3.3.4 SIP Broker Network (094)

For members who do not want to define their own Network Numbers, they can use the Network Numbers defined by others. One of them is SIP Broker, their list of pre-defined Network Numbers can be found at their SIP-Code Page.

The destination phone number is created by putting the SIP Broker's SIP-Code (*aaaa) behind 899094 and in front of the phone number you wanted to dial (bbbbbbbb) to get 899094aaaabbbbbbbb.

Note you do not need to enter the star (*) in front of the SIP-Code.

For example to dial the phone number 123456 on the OZtell network (*698) you will need to enter 899094698123456.

[edit] 3.3.5 Jingle Network (095)

Jingle support is being redeveloped, so may not work. Use 091 instead to call Google Talk.

To dial a Jabber ID, put an entry in your Quick Dial under your Web Dialer.

For example, to dial mrsmith@jabber.oztralia.com using Jingle, assign 899095mrsmith@jabber.oztralia.com with a Quick Dial number of "899095123" or simply "123", then just enter 899095123 or 123 in your phone to run mrsmith@jabber.oztralia.com on Jingle.

This is an interim solution, we hope to support Jingle natively in the future so you can define your own Network Number (899xxx) that maps to any Jingle network (@jabber.whatever.com) without using 899095. In such a case, you only need to assign 899xxxmrsmith to a quick dial number. There is no need to put the Jabber network (@jabber.whatever.com) in Quick Dial.

[edit] 3.3.6 SIP IP Address Network (098)

IP address is a great way of dialing a SIP internet phone directly, by-passing any VoIP networks in the middle.

The destination phone number is created by putting the IP address aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd behind 899098 to get 899098aaabbbcccddd.

Note the IP Addresses are specified WITH leading zeros but WITHOUT dots (.)

For example to dial the IP address 123.45.67.89, the you will need to enter 899098123045067089.

[edit] 3.3.7 Skype Network (099)

099 is the 3 digit network number for Skype.

To make calls to Skype users, please dial 899099xxx where xxx is their Skype Names.

If their Skype Name is NOT a number, then you can define a quick dial in your Web Dialer so you can still call them using any phone's standard numeric key pad.

For example, if the Skype name is mrsmith then define in your quick dial:

  1. Name = John Smith
  2. Short Cut = 123
  3. Phone Number = 899099mrsmith

If you dial 123 from your phone, you will be connected to the Skype Name johnsmith.

Another example is

  1. Name = John Smith
  2. Short Cut = 899099123
  3. Phone Number = 899099mrsmith

If you dial 899099123 from your phone, you will be connected to the Skype Name johnsmith.
