[edit] 1 Introduction

Web Dialer allows you to take advantage of the features and prices of the ever increasing number of telephone networks (VoIP, mobiles, landlines) easily.

Web Dialer enables you to reduce the cost of making phone calls substantially by intelligently managing the dial out process - saving both MONEY and TIME.

For example, users can control which phone network to use (even our competitors' networks) in order to take advantage of the best price/quality/features available worldwide.

The caller can ALWAYS take advantage of the cheapest prices possible, whether those are OZtell prices or not.

Web Dialer also has a lot MORE features that makes it BETTER than other outbound phone services. Please refer to the Superior Features section below.


[edit] 2 Intelligent Dialling

As the number of telephone providers (landline, mobile, VoIP) increases, it’s important to be able to manage the dialling process so that calls can be made with the lowest cost, best quality, and maximum reach.

Integration with the Web Dialler function allows calls from Access Numbers to be intelligently made to Internet phones as well as normal phone networks.

Some examples of what can be achieved are:

  1. Depending on the destination phone number entered, Access Number can use different telephone providers' call rates to make calls.
  2. Access Number can map a certain destination number to a different phone number, for extra convenience or privacy.
  3. Custom phone accounts can automatically be used on the fly to dial phones on private phone networks.
  4. Internet phone numbers that belong to NON-Net2MAX members can be also dialled just like the Internet phone numbers of Net2MAX members.

[edit] 3.1 Use Our Competitor's Rates

In the rare case that a competitor provides better call rates to some call destinations (well, no one can beat Net2MAX to all call destinations) our customers can use our unqiue Web Dialer function to automatically send all their calls to those destination through our competitor instead of Net2MAX!

With Web Dialer, Net2MAX customers will ALWAYS get the best call quality/price/feature in the whole industry.

[edit] 3.2 Rates for Different Purposes

Different people have different call patterns, so it is no possible to have a single set of call rates that is suitable for everyone. Net2MAX provides flexibility in both charge rate and call quality.

Net2MAX has a number of charge rates available, for example, businesses will select the charge per second rate, while a family with teenagers will select flat untimed charge per call rate.

Net2MAX also has a number of call quality levels available, for example, businesses with mostly short calls will select the higher quality while lovers separated by long distances will select lower quality in order to talk long for low prices.

[edit] 3.3 Change Rates from Phone

Net2MAX does not force the customer to pick one rate plan over other. Customer can select the rate they want to use AT THE TIME OF CALL.

Customers can use a per second rate for short calls and use a flat untimed rate for long calls. They simply dial some additional digits in front of the destination phone number in order to make that specific call using a specific set of rates.

This ability to select rates on a call by call basis, is also useful when a poorer quality rate is first select and found to be insufficient, in this case, the same call can be made again using a higher quality rate quickly by just add a few digits in fornt of the phone number.

[edit] 3.4 Automatic Rate Selection

Using the Web Dialer function, customers can define for which call destination to use which rates. The destination can be a whole country, a city or even a single phone number.

So, everytime you ring a destination, your pre-defined rate corresponding to that destination will be used. This let you use specfic rate for a specific destination automatically, without the need to dial extra digits in front of the destination phone number each time.

For example, if you always make very long calls to a certain phone number and very short calls to other numbers, you can tell Web Dialer to use untimed flat rate for that phone number but remain using per seocnd rate for dialing other phone numbers.

Another important use of this function is for making calls using our competitors' rates for certain destinations, so calls to those destinations will automatically use our competitors' rate rather than OZtell's rates.

[edit] 3.5 Call Destination Restrictions

Sometimes calls are make to high charge destinations like premium services, overseas countries, mobile phones etc. either unintentionally or without authority.

Web Dialer can block all calls to certain destinations defined by you, you can block a few individual phone numbers or a few whole countries. It is up to you to define and control which phone destination can or cannot be dialed.

It is very useful for restricting access to certain phone numbers for children and staff.

[edit] 3.6 Universal Dialing Format

Web Dialer uses a single universal dialing format across BOTH traditional phone networks and internet phone networks worldwide. Reducing confusion when dialing between networks with different technologies from different parts of the world.

Whether it is traditional phone or internet phone, the phone number to enter for dialing is always made up of Country Code then Area Code then Phone Number.

To dial ANY traditional phones, their full international direct dial (IDD) number should be entered. For example, to call traditional phone number 92176000 in Sydney Australia, 61292176000 should be entered.

The 61 is the country code for Australia and 2 is the area code for Sydney. There is NO need to enter any traditional phone network specific IDD or STD prefix (like 0011 or 0) in front.

To dial ANY internet phones, the SAME full international direct dial (IDD) format is used. For example, to call internet phone number 12345678 on the OZtralia Internet Phone network, 89906012345678 should be entered.

The 899 is the Country Code for all Internet Phones and 060 is the Area Code (Network Number) for the OZtralia Internet Phone network. There is NO need to enter any internet phone network specific prefix (like * or **) in front.

[edit] 3.7 User Quick Dial

Phone Numbers can be long to enter and hard to remember. It is very convenient to have the ability to define a list of short cuts or quick dials, so phone numbers can be represented by much shorter easy to remember personal numbers.

For example, dialing 12 instead of 61292176012, or dialing 67 instead of 8990601234567.

Most other quick dials are HANDSET based, so are hard to maintain as the user changes from one phone to another.

Web Dialer's Quick Dial feature is USER based, so once defined, they can be used across different handsets and even different internet phone software on different computers.


[edit] 3.8 Network Number Conversion

The number of Internet Phone (VoIP) networks is increasing everyday. In order to call someone on a different network, their network address have to be entered behind their phone number on those networks.

For example, to call someone with phone number 456789 on the sip.abc.com phone network you have to enter 456789@sip.abc.com into your Internet Phone. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter the characters like @sip.abc.com on most phone handsets, they have only digits (0-9) keypads.

A method of mapping a Network Number (digits) to a Network Address (characters) is required in order for people to dial Internet Phones on external networks easily.

The Network Number Conversion feature allows you to define your own personal network number for @sip.abc.com - say you give it a network number 123. Now you can call the Internet Phone number 456789@sip.abc.com by simply entering 899123456789 into any handset.

Using the standard international dialing format: 899 is the country code for Internet Phones. 123 is the area code (the 3 digit network number you defined). 456789 is the actual phone number of the person you wanted to call.


[edit] 3.9 Local Dialing Conversion

The universal dialing format mentioned above is very simple for dialing ACROSS traditionl and internet phone networks from anywhere, but for those people who are used to the old method of dialing IDD and STD prefixes, there is support for the Local Dialing Format.

With this feature, user can define their own country code, area code, IDD prefix, STD prefix. For example,

Web Dialer will take the Local Format that the user dialed and convert it to the Universal Format it uses for making calls.

[edit] 3.10 Caller Number Control

When you make a call to different people, you might want to display a different Caller Phone Number to them.

For example, you might want to display a local Sydney Caller Number to all the Sydney people you are calling, while displaying a local Melbounre Caller Number to all the Melbourne people you are calling.

Another use is to display one Caller Number when calling phones of friends while displaying a different Caller Number when you are calling strangers.

Since different Caller Numbers are displayed automatically when you call different destinations, there is no need to spend time telling people what number to ring you back on for what purposes anymore.

[edit] 3.11 Automatic Protocol Adaptation

Web Dialer's ability to use External Networks (or Competitor's Networks) means that you will most likely encounter networks that are not compatible with your phone equipment or links. Automatic Protocol Adaptation overcomes that and let you use those networks even with incompatible equipment or links.

For example, some External Networks use high bandwidth codecs like G711, which will overwhelm a home or small office link. With Web Dialer's Automatic Protocol Adaptation, those people can use a low bandwidth codec like G729 to Web Dialer and then Web Dialer will convert it to G711 automatically (before communicating with the previously incompatible External Network).

[edit] 3.12 Dial to Private Networks

Web Dialer accepts the entry of individual phone account information from private phone networks. Once entered, all phones on those private phone networks (like corporate networks) can be dialed through that phone account.

A similar ability exist in the Web PABX for receiving phone calls from phone on the private phone networks.

[edit] 4 Usage Information

Web Dialer features are controlled centrally by selecting "Web Dialer" from the drop down menu AFTER logging into www.oztralia.com

If you do NOT see "Web Dialer" in the drop down menu, then you have not subscribed to this function as yet. You may go to "Maintain Functions" in the drop down menu to subscribe to it (if enabled by your service partner).

Once you are on the Web Dialer page, click on "Help" on the top menu bar to display detailed online help for Web Dialer.


[edit] 4.1 Intelligent Answering

Integration with Web PABX allows incoming calls to be filtered by a caller’s phone number, by time, by password, or by voice prompting.

Extra features such as concurrently ringing multiple destination phones, voice messaging, voice menus etc. can be added via the web interface with the click of a mouse.


[edit] 5 Dialer Sharing

Net2MAX is the first telephone company in the world to offer dialer sharing capability to end-users.

You can use someone else's web dialer, like your companies' or friends' or relatives'. You can also check out some the local Net2MAX Communities in your area who most likely have ready made Web Dialers available.

However, there is an even easier way - you can use someone else's Web Dialer! As long as they allowed you to access and you agreed to use them ..., all YOUR phone calls can take advantage of THEIR Web Dialer configurations.


Besides helping those who wants to take advantage of the power of Web Dialer yet have NO interest in setting it up themselves, this sharing feature is particularly useful for businesses, communities and families where all internal phone extension numbers and all the call expenses can be controlled from a central point.


Examples

This is especially useful for groups of people (like staff within a businesses) working together. For example, one single person can maintain:

  • a central list of Quick Dial numbers (like extensions for each staff's phone numbers)
  • a standard Dial Format (like using same country and area code for Local Format)
  • a central list of Network Numbers (for dialing different external VoIP networks)
  • a central list of VoIP providers (for using different VoIP providers for the best combination of phone quality and rates)

Everytime something changes, everyone who shares the same Web Dialer will get the new settings immediately without doing anything!
