1 Introduction
Skype is a very popular internet phone network. Net2MAX's Skype Phone service adds value to
2 Own Identity
2.1 Direct Outbound
Unlike our Skype gateway (for people without Skype accounts), which uses a proxy (e.g. net2max8, oztralia9 etc.) indirectly to make the calls for you, with this Skype Phone service the Skype phone calls are make using your own Skype account directly.
You have your own identity on those outbound calls, so people on Skype knows who is calling them immediately.
2.2 Direct Inbound
Unlike our Skype gateway (for people without Skype accounts), which uses a proxy (e.g. net2max12, oztralia16 etc.) indirectly to receives the calls for you, with this Skype Phone service your own Skype account is used to receive Skype phone calls directly.
People on Skype knows who knows your Skype Name can call you directly without learning about a new proxy Skype ID.
3 Low Cost
3.1 No Hardware
There is no need to buy USB phones, or headsets, or microphones, or computers, or PDAs, or anything special to use Skype.
Normal land line phones, mobile cell phones, SIP VoIP phones and even a phone booth on the side of the road will do!
3.2 No Software
Your Skype software is run on the iStations so you do not need to run Skype software yourself. This is great when you are away from your computer or away from an internet connection.
4 High Functionality
4.1 Distributed Architecture
Provides redundancy, load balancing and anti-blocking.
4.2 Multiple Channels
Provides up to 10 concurrent voice channels by combining multiple Skype account into a single group. More than 10 channels may be possible, please contact your Community Operator.
Incoming calls to a single Skype account will hunt to other Skype accounts until it can find a free voice channel to send the incoming call into your Web PABX. Outgoing calls will automatically use hunt through multiple Skype accounts until it can find a free voice channel to call out with.
