1 Introduction
Net2MAX introduces a layered approach to Internet Search, combining the power of multiple public search engines and private community search engines.
2 Global Search Engine
For search the whole online world, Net2MAX does NOT perform the indexing itself. It simply submit your search request to a number of search engines AT THE SAME TIME - saving you having to do multiple search one after another yourself.
Currently, Net2MAX can query the following search engines simultaneously: Google, Yahoo!, AltaVista, MSN, Inktomi, FAST, Teoma, LookSmart and dmoz Open Directory. By default Google is NOT enabled, because it is against their terms of service, but you can enable it if you receive permission from Google (for example, if you supply a Google API Key to get about 1000 queries a day).
Only the top results are retrieved from each search engine, they are then combined, scored, sorted and displayed resulting in a compact list reflecting the ranking of the sites from ALL the engines. At the bottom of each result entry is a ranking bar and the contributing source search engines.
3 Community Search Engine
Net2MAX both index and search Community based sites using the community's own preferences and policies.
