1 Public Usage
1.1 Top Menu
- There are five main buttons on the top menu.
- Net2MAX - Goes to different users' Net2MAX homepages according to which conference you have entered.
- Language - We support three languages: English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
- Color - You can choose different color of template to make your conference vivid.
- Help
- Back to Home - It will always lead you to the conference list page.
- Conference Help - An instruction to all functions of Online Conference.
- Net2MAX Instruction - An instruction to all functions of Net2MAX One Click Contact.
- Register Net2MAX - To register a Net2MAX account.
- Net2MAX Demo - Feel free to take a look of our example!
- Login - You can either login to your conference account or Net2MAX account.
1.2 Video Cameras
- By default, the video (camera) and audio are not enabled. To broadcast your video and/or audio, simply click on the "Camera" button.
- There are four settings under webcam device.
- Size - Width times Height in pixel. The larger it is, the cleaerer the video is.
- Rate - Fame captured per second. The higher it is, the smoother the movement is.
- Bandwidth - It is the rate to transfer sound and video bit. The higher it is does not always mean the better it is. Since the bandwidth is limited, if you have occupied most of it, other users may not have enough bandwidth, and you may suffer congestion and recieve worse video.
- Quality - "0.1" is the lowest video quality. "1" is the highest. "Auto" will choose the best quality according to the bandwidth.
- (Note: Not every computer can handle the highest value of the settings above.)
- There is also a setting under microphone device.
- Rate - The higher it is, the smoother the conversation is.
- (Note: You can only set your own device. Other users' cameras won't be affected by your settings.)
- After you have clicked "ok", you will see your own camera.
- If you mouseover to the cameras' titles, you'll see a menu:
- AV Settings - View video and audio settings of cameras.
- Width x Height - Choosing the size that is same as the size of the webcam device you have choosen will give you the best video view.
- Start Record - Recording your own video. It will only show up when the conference owner allow public record.
- Stop and Save - You need to press it in order to save your video recording. You can go to "Work Area" -> "Player" -> "Video" to play back your video recordings.
1.3 Control Panel
- There are three main functions under control panel:
- Chat - This is the chat area. You can always see the chat history when you press the "View Chat History" button. You can also press "Refresh Chat History" button to view the updated messages from outside. Instant Messaging users can also send messages directly from their Instant Message client, such as Yahoo Messenger, MSN, Google Talk etc. First, "net2max0" must be added to their Instant Message list. When "net2max0" is online, you can start sending messages to the conference by sending "(JC 1CC number) Hello" to "net2max0", example: if "(JC61290112121) Hello" is sent to net2max0, the message "Hello" will appear in the Chat area of 61290112121 conference room. This fax can then be shared by other users in the conference.
- Files - It allows you to upload files and put them on the "Work Area". You can share your nicely done powerpoint to other people very easily! It supports *.tga; *.xcf; *.wpg; *.txt; *.ico; *.ttf; *.pcd; *.pcds; *.ps; *.psd; *.tiff; *.bmp; *.svg; *.dpx; *.exr; *.jpg; *.jpeg; *.gif; *.png; *.ppt; *.odp; *.odt; *.wpd; *.doc; *.rtf; *.txt; *.ods; *.sxc; *.xls; *.sxi; *.pdf. In addition to files uploaded manually, the public can also fax a document to a local phone number of a 1CC user and have that fax automatically sent to the 1CC user's email address as well as to the "File" area of conference room. Apart from uploading files, incoming faxes to your local number can also be received in the conference, allowing you to share it with other users online.
- People - If you are stuck in a debate, conference moderator can use it to let other people vote for your suggestions. If you click on the list, you can see the users' information. (Note: You can only see your own information if you a not a net2max member.)
When you right click on the list, you will see the following menu:- Private Chat - You can have private chat with all other users in the conference.
- Call - You can call to the selected user if he is a Net2MAX member.
- People - If you are stuck in a debate, conference moderator can use it to let other people vote for your suggestions. If you click on the list, you can see the users' information. (Note: You can only see your own information if you a not a net2max member.)
1.4 Work Area
- There are three main roles inside a conference room:
- Public users - They can only view the Work Area.
- Moderator - Only one moderator at a time. He can control the Work Area and do demonstration.
- Conference Owner - A Net2MAX member who owns the conference. He has all the rights to control all functions under Work Area.
- (Note: Public users can also become moderator when the conference owner assign it to you or he has activated "Public Moderator" mode. In Public Moderator mode, everyone can become moderator when pressing "Become Moderator" button on the top menu.)
- There are 6 buttons under Work Area:
- Welcome - An introduction created by the conference owner.
- Whiteboard - Place that allows moderator to demonstrate. It has two working methods:
- Paint - You can draw anything and highlight the main points with it.
- Document - You can control pages with it.
- Player - It contains all uploaded and recorded media.
- Video - You can play back all recorded videos in the conference.
- Conference - You can play back all conference recordings in the conference. (Note: Since playing back a recording will occupy the whole conference room, you can only play one at a time. You will need to re-enter the conference in order to re-join it after that.)
- Zip Files List - It contains the recorded conference zip files.
- Telephone - You can dial to the conference owner with it.
- Screen - Only the moderator can use it. It allows moderator to share his computer screen view with others.
- Moderator - Functions for moderator only.
- Camera List - You can set which users can use the camera in the conference.
- When the conference owner has allowed "Public Record", there will have one more button showing up on the top right corner of the Work Area:
- Record Conference - You can record the whole conference with it. Only one person can record at a time. You can play back the recordings by going to "Player" -> "Conference". Besides, a zip file is automatically saved under "Player" -> "Zip Files List".
1.5 Direct Access URL
- There are some direct access functions for users' convenience.
- Entering a conference directly:
- e.g. http://conference-server9.net2max.com/61290112121, it will lead you to enter room 61290112121 directly.
- However, if it is a private room, you will need to login first.
- Playing a video recording directly:
- This link will lead you to play a videorecording file called "player-buttons.flv" in the room, 61290112121. "player-" is the command here.
- Playing a conference recording directly:
- This link will lead you to play a conference recording file called "recording_31_07_2008_at_11_04" in the room, 61290112121. "recorder-" is the command here.
- Loading a Power Point Presentation to Work Area directly:
- This link will lead you to load a power point file called "Demo_Presentation.ppt" to the Work Area in the room, 61290112121. "whiteboard-" is the command here.
2 Member Usage
Net2MAX members have all the functions above, plus the functions below:
2.1 Top Menu
- Net2MAX members will have two extra buttons on the top menu after login:
- Settings - There are three things you can set:
- Organisation - Allows you to add Net2MAX conference members to your organisation. These members will then have the right to go into your "Private" conference. You can also set the maximum number of cameras in your conference. (Note: if it is set to "1", only the conference owner can use the camera.)
- Conference Settings - You can set your conference as "Public" or "Private". Public conference allows everyone to go in. If you have set up a password for your public conference, people will need to enter that password in order to go into your conference. Private conference only allows Net2MAX members who are in your organsation to go in.
- User Settings - You can setup your personal information and upload your own icon here.
- Logout - To logout your account.
- Settings - There are three things you can set:
2.2 Video Cameras
- Net2MAX members can always record their own videos even Not in Public Record mode.
2.3 Control Panel
- Only conference owner can delete the uploaded files and chat history.
- Chat - For all Net2MAX members, if you type "(J<1CC number>)<Message>" in the input box, it will send a message to that 1CC user's Jabber. (i.e. "(J61290112121)Hello" will send a "Hello" message to 61290112121's Jabber.)
- People - Net2MAX members can view all other users' information.
By right click on the list, Net2MAX members has three more options:- Call - Make call to the selected user.
- Fax - Send fax to the selected user.
- SMS - Send SMS to the selected user.
- Location - You can check out the location of the selected user.
2.4 Work Area
- Conference owner will have one more function under "Telephone" button:
- Audio Conference - It allows you to communicate with other people even they are Not in the conference.
- Besides, conference owner has one more function button:
- Owner - Only conference owner can see it. It contains four functions:
- Public / Owner Moderator - When "Public Moderator" is chosen, a "Become Moderator" button will appear on all users' top menus, except the moderator's. Everyone can become moderator in this mode. By selecting "Owner Moderator", conference owner can recieve all the rights and become moderator immediately.
- Cancel / Allow Public Record - When "Allow Public Record" is chosen, everyone in the conference including public users can record their own videos and the whole conference. Pressing "Cancel Public Record" can cancel this mode.
- Assign Moderator - Conference owner can assign anyone in the conference to be moderator with it.
- Kick User - It allows the owner to kick a naughty user out of the conference.
- Owner - Only conference owner can see it. It contains four functions:
- Furthermore, all Net2MAX members can record conference even Not in Public Record mode. But still only one person can record at a time.
