1 UNIFIED INTERFACE

Net2MAX Common Interface allows you to access MORE with LESS.

User productivity increases substantially and operation costs reduced as numerous online resources (people, services, devices, countries) can now be accessed through a COMMON INTERFACE.

1.1 Increase Productivity Reduce Cost

Existing communication services can only handle one or a few of the communication mediums and applications that you use daily, resulting in a need to have MULTIPLE phone numbers and internet addresses.

Net2MAX's Common Interface turns ONE phone number provided or selected by you into an Universal Number that can be used across all communication services.

1.1.1 Skype & eBay: Different Platform

There is a growing trend in the online market towards consolidation, for example, eBay purchased Skype, Google purchased You Tube, MSN failed to buy Yahoo but at least started exchanging instant messages with it ... however all of these consolidations do not deliver the true benefits of integration fully.

For example, despite the purchase of Skype by eBay, users still need to know and manage separately their eBay User ID, their Skype Name and also the phone numbers and email addresses of each other, making communication just as difficult as before the purchase.

1.1.2 Net2MAX: Common Interface

Net2MAX's Common Interface increases the productivity of the user by enabling access to the best features from multiple providers and provide more convenience to the user through much simpler operations.

Using your EXISTING phone number as the base for everything, makes it easier for others to find out and remember your contact details as well as easier for you remember and give out yourself.

To contact you, there are no new phone numbers or web addresses for you or the public to learn or remember, Net2MAX uses the same EXISTING phone number that you and them have been known.

With Net2MAX however, there is no need for consolidation since the e-commerce back-end is already integrated with its communication back-end, which in turn is already integrated with the user's existing phone number and email address.

1.1.3 IMS: Common Equipment

IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is an attempt to converge services at the the equipment level by providing a Common Equipment base to develop services with.

IMS is a too little and too late attempt for traditional telco equipment suppliers (e.g. Ericsson) to catch up with the internet based providers (e.g. Skype).

It takes a massive amount of time and money to develop, deploy, maintain, market, sale and support IMS services. Compared the fast, cheap and open internet services (with multimedia services already deployed with millions of existing users) IMS is a losing game.

1.2 People Interface

Most online services (e.g. Skype, MSN etc.) have no concept nor provisions for handling the communication with the public (non-members). They assume (or hope) that everyone on earth is going to be their customers, thus they have only defined a single user interface - for its members only.

Net2MAX understands that although registering with Net2MAX is free and takes only a few seconds, NOT everyone in the world would like to registered with Net2MAX just to communicate with a member. We allow the public (non-members) to make use of most Net2MAX facilities without nor having account of any sort.

Here we use the Net2MAX Web Phone and Web Text functions to illustrate how Public Users can use Net2MAX service WITHOUT joining, thus allowing the Ne2MAX member to be reached by many more people than before.

1.2.1 People: Web Phone Demo

Most Voice over IP (VoIP) networks shut out the public (non-members) from making VoIP calls.

The Net2MAX Web Phone is much better since the public does NOT need to have a VoIP account of any sort, yet they can still make voice calls to the member. The public just click on a normal web link, for example:

  1. A web link on the member's web page
  2. A web link in the member's email
  3. A web link in the member's spreadsheet
  4. A web link in the member's PDF file
  5. A web link in the member's instant message

and a web phone will open up in new browser window for the public to talk to the member instantly.

As shown above the Web Phone has a dial pad for entering different phone numbers, but if the phone number is already in the web link itself, then it will dial out automatically WITHOUT even the need to enter the phone number via the dial pad.

Live Demonstration

With Net2MAX only one party of the phone call needs to be registered with Net2MAX, the other party (the public) does NOT need to register with Net2MAX. People can become Net2MAX members by registering their phone numbers for FREE, after that their phone numbers are immediately available to receive calls made by the PUBLIC using the web browsers worldwide with Net2MAX's Web Phone function.

In this demo, the phone number 61290112121 has already been registered. The public (like you) can now call 61290112121 for FREE from anywhere in the world using the web WITHOUT downloading any software and WITHOUT applying for any account.

You can try out Web Phone Dial Pad now by clicking this link:

http://webphone.net2max.com/61290112121

A browser window will pop-up with a dial-pad inside, a call to 61290112121 will be made automatically. After 61290112121 answered, you will hear a voice menu where you can select a few test options (for details on testing using 61290112121's voice menu please Click HERE).

1.2.2 People: Web Text Demo

Most Instant Messaging (IM) networks shut out the public (non-members) from sending and receiving Instant Messages.

In contrast, with Net2MAX Web Text, the public does NOT need to have an IM account of any sort, yet they can still interact with the member through instant messages. The public just click on a normal web link, for example:

  1. A web link on the member's web page
  2. A web link in the member's email
  3. A web link in the member's spreadsheet
  4. A web link in the member's PDF file
  5. A web link in the member's instant message

and an instant message dialogue box will open up in new browser window for the public to message the member with.

There is NO need for the public to download any software, NO need to login and NO need to join any network. The public just text chat to the member from the web page and the member can chat with them just like they are any other "normal" instant message user.

Live Demonstration

With Net2MAX only one party of the instant message session needs to register to become a member, the public does NOT need to register with Net2MAX. Anyone can become a member by registering their phone numbers for FREE, after that their phone numbers are immediately available to receive instant messages from the web browser worldwide using the Web Text function.

In this demo, the phone number 61290112121 has already been registered. The public (like you) can now instant message 61290112121 for FREE from anywhere in the world using the web WITHOUT downloading any software and WITHOUT applying for any account.

You can try out Web Text now by clicking this link:

http://webtext.net2max.com/61290112121

You will see a web page telling you whether 61290112121 is currently online. You can then press the "Start Web Text" button to start an instant messaging session with 61290112121. You will be assigned an temporary identity of 061290112121 and whatever you type the 61290112121 user will is echo back to you.

1.3 Service Interface

Most online services (e.g. Skype, MSN etc.) have no concept nor provisions for interoperating with other (mostly competing) services. They assume (or hope) that everyone on earth is going to be their customers, thus they have NO support for other services.

Net2MAX understands that customers already have existing services or they might get extra services later on. We aggressively support as many external services as possible so our members can get the BEST of all services.

Here we use the Net2MAX Web Phone and Instant Message functions to illustrate how multiple (mostly competing) External Services are supported side by side in Net2MAX.

1.3.1 Services: Web Phone Demo

The introduction of VoIP means phones might not be compatible with each other anymore. Different services run on different protocols and even different settings within the same protocol, making it very difficult to communication with people across different services.

People on Normal Phone Services

Net2MAX Web Phone allows the people to enter their normal phone numbers (like land-line or mobile phone numbers as shown below) into the web page and Web Phone will automatically call them back on those phones.

Web Phone will first ring the member, after the member has picked up the phone, it will then call the public back.

People on Internet Phone Services

For those people who has their OWN VoIP phones, they can also use the same call back web page to enter their VoIP phone numbers. Web Phone will call them back on their VoIP phones.

Web Phone currently supports most popular VoIP protocols (like SIP, Skype, MSN, Yahoo, GoogleTalk as shown above).

Live Demonstration

Anyone can register their phone numbers for FREE, after that their phone numbers are immediately available to receive calls from the web browser worldwide using the Web Phone function.

In this demo, the phone number 61290112121 has already been registered. Anyone (like you) can now call 61290112121 for FREE from anywhere in the world using the web WITHOUT downloading any software and WITHOUT applying for any account.

You can try out Web Phone Call Back now by clicking this link:

http://webphone.net2max.com/-61290112121

A browser window will pop-up with an input box, enter your phone number into the input box and click the "Call Me Now" button. 61290112121 will call you back on your phone number and you will hear a voice menu where you can select a few test options (for details on testing using 61290112121's voice menu please Click HERE).

1.3.2 Services: Instant Message Demo

Most Instant Messenger networks shut out the public (non-members) from instant messaging with their members. Net2MAX's instant messaging feature not only handles the most popular instant messengers (MSN, Yahoo, Gtalk, ICQ, Skype, Jabber, QQ shown below), but also allow ANYONE on the web to instant message the member through the SAME integrated interface!

Live Demonstration

Anyone can register their phone numbers for FREE, after that their phone numbers are immediately available to receive calls from the web browser worldwide using the Web Phone function.

In this demo, the phone number 61290112121 has already been registered. The public (like you) can now call 61290112121 for FREE from anywhere in the world using the web WITHOUT downloading any software and WITHOUT applying for any account.

1.4 Device Interface

Some online services (e.g. Skype, Blackberry etc.) lock users into their proprietary hardware and software devices, while economical conditions locks some users out of more powerful equipment (mobile phones that only handle WAP instead of WEB).

Group Email Example

A problem with online services like MSN, Yahoo, QQ, Google Talk, Skype etc. is that people on BOTH ends need to registered with them in order for them to communicate. This restricts their growth and limits the range of communications of their members.

Net2MAX solves this by expanding the reach of its members BEYOND its members. Provides a wider reach to the user by enabling access to the people who are non-members as well as members. It also improved security for the member by centralising authentication across multiple online applications.

Net2MAX has a separate Public Interface which members can control who has access to what type of communications with the member under what situations. Whether it is voice, image, text or complex online applications, the member can create individual communication environments for people contacting the member.

With Net2MAX there is no need to migrate away from an online service that a person is happy with and there is no lock down to communicating with members of the same network, members can communicate with public on any network they like. For example, Net2MAX members can receive text messages from any users on large numbers of different networks, like SMS, MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, QQ and Skype ... WITHOUT being a member of any of those networks!

Net2MAX provides a special communication environment for the public to perform traditional communications that used to require registering and downloading of software - like internet phone calls (VoIP), instant messaging (IM) and desktop sharing etc. - now all those can be done without any special software or registration.

1.4.1 Simplicity Example 1: Web Address

A problem with existing online services is that they all of different web addresses and different user accounts. Making it is difficult to use and difficult to give out to others.

For example, after registering the phone number +61 2 90112121 with Net2MAX, ALL your web sites are now available under ONE account and ONE web site.

http://net2max.com/61290112121

For people who want to go to specific the web sites directly, individual web sites can also be reach under the SAME account and SAME domain. For example, the following services are available under ONE number for people worldwide to contact the member:

  1. Online Conference - http://conference.net2max.com/61290112121
  2. Television Recorder - http://recorder.net2max.com/61290112121
  3. Email Address - mailto:61290112121@net2max.com
  4. Instant Message Address (Jabber) - xmpp:61290112121@net2max.com
  5. Web Chat Address - http://webchat.net2max.com/61290112121
  6. Media Gallery Address - http://media.net2max.com/61290112121
  7. Video Broadcast Address - http://video.net2max.com/61290112121
  8. Remote Screen Sharing Address - http://screen.net2max.com/61290112121
  9. White Board Address - http://whiteboard.net2max.com/61290112121
  10. Current Location - http://location.net2max.com/61290112121
  11. Project Manager Address - http://project.net2max.com/61290112121
  12. Blog Address - http://blog.net2max.com/61290112121
  13. Wiki Address - http://wiki.net2max.com/61290112121
  14. Forum Address - http://forum.net2max.com/61290112121
  15. Calendar Address - http://calendar.net2max.com/61290112121
  16. Online Shop Address - http://exchange.net2max.com/61290112121
  17. Search Engine Address - http://search.net2max.com/61290112121
  18. Web Phone Address - http://webphone.net2max.com/61290112121
  19. SIP Phone Number - sip:61290112121@net2max.com
  20. Normal Phone Number - dial 61290112121
  21. Normal Fax Number - dial 61290112121
  22. Worldwide Toll-Free Phone Number - dial Access Numbers then enter 61290112121
  23. Worldwide Toll-Free Fax Number - dial Access Numbers then enter 61290112121
  24. Worldwide SMS Number - Send message with (61290112121) to SMS Numbers
  25. MSN, Skype, Yahoo, QQ, AIM, ICQ Address - Send message with (61290112121) to Instant Message Address

With One Number Integration, the single http://net2max.com/61290112121 web address should be used in most situations, but the above individual web addresses can also be used for providing fast direct "one click" access within emails, instant messages, sms, web sites etc. in specific situations.

1.4.2 Simplicity Example 2: Data Storage

A problem with other services is that they force the users to have different data storages on device devices for different applications.

Net2MAX enables the sharing of application data easily, for example: Files, Calendars, Notes, Tasks and Contacts via the Web Browser.

However, having web access ONLY is not enough. Mobile devices can now be connected to the Web all the time (GPRS) and at high speeds (3G) but what about the battery? Constant connection drains the battery within a few hours, thus synchronisation still have an important role to play.

Net2MAX supports synchronisation of those SAME web based application data across Devices (Apple iPod, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Palm), Computers (MS Outlook, Thunderbird, Evolution, LDAP, MS Exchange, Lotus Domino) and Phones (Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola).

Shared Disk

The member's network drive is available online through the web browser as well as directly on the computer desk-top through standard disk protocols like WebDAV and SMB (CIFS).

For WebDAV, the versioning of files is also supported.

Shared Calendar

The member's calendars (events, meetings) are available online through the web browser as well offline through synchronisation.

Besides the calendar, the member's tasks (to dos, appointments) are available online through the web browser as well offline through synchronisation.

Shared Contacts

The member's contacts (phone numbers, email addresses) are available online through the web browser as well offline through synchronisation.

1.5 Country Interface

2 COMMUNITY APPLICATION

No telephone or internet company, in fact, no company can know nor predict what you really want or need, now or in the future. Traditionally, communication services are managed by the service providers, they lack the controllability and flexibility required to match your INDIVIDUAL and CHANGING needs.

Net2MAX allows you (instead your service providers) to manage your communication experiences yourself, so you can easily tailor your communication environment to your particular needs.

Net2MAX's aim is to reduce the Digital Divides that exist both WITHIN as well as ACROSS nations - by removing the traditional barriers to developing and accessing the latest information and communication technologies at the LOCAL COMMUNITY level.

The Internet lowers the barrier to the DEVELOPMENT and DEPLOYMENT of NEW services, allowing innovation to be driven by a large number of independent 2nd Generation SERVICES providers instead of a small number of 1st Generation NETWORK operators.

Net2MAX lowers the barrier to the MIXING and MATCHING of DIFFERENT services, allows innovation to be driven by almost any one. They can be young or old, they can be in the city or in the country, they do not need money nor even communication expertise.

If Web 2.0 is about user generated CONTENT, then Net2MAX is about user generated SERVICES. Net2MAX members can create new innovative communication experiences for themselves and others easily.

2.1 Increase Innovation Reduce Cost

Most phone services allow you change the limited CONTENT within their services (e.g. recording your own voice greetings) but only Net2MAX allows you to change the actual STRUCTURE (e.g. how to handle each call) as well.

Universal Customisation purposefully expose many more platform configuration setting to you through easy to use web interface and convenient text messaging.

It allows rapid responses to incoming communications without needing human intervention. Web control enables fast changing of predefined automate responses from anywhere.

Universal Customisation allows you to perform simple tasks like managing all your passwords in one place to complex task controlling how much to charge caller when they call you after hours.

There is no need for you to pay for time consuming and expensive programming services in order to automate your operations. Without programmers, there is no confusion about specifications and no communication errors.

Universal Customisation Benefits

  1. better control
  2. higher accuracy
  3. faster responses

2.2 Creativity Example 1: Web Dialer

2.3 Creativity Example 2: Instant Command

Existing communication services support two different ways of customising their services by two different types of people:

  1. Limited User Configuartion for Customers
  2. Complex Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for Programmers

User customisation do not have enough power yet APIs is too complex to use. Worse still, there are DIFFERENT user customisation and APIs for different services - making customisation a very inefficient process.

Net2MAX's Unified Control allows non-technical people to customise communication services extensively for their own needs yet without any programming.

  1. The SAME Unified Control can be used BOTH by end-users to change their own platforms AND by Net2MAX Communities to create change platforms for others.
  2. The SAME Unified Control works across multiple communication services (including external non-Net2MAX default services].

Application Example Interface

Customisation using Application Programming Interface (API) supplied by service providers require the use of programming skill and complex development environments (e.g. SOAP). Requiring knowledge of programming languages and programming skills severely restricts the ability of ordinary people to take full advantage of a service.

Net2MAX supports a new Application Example Interface (AEI), where customisation and new capabilities performed by Examples instead of by Programming.

Sharing Interface

Functions on the Net2MAX platform can shared easily.

Copying Interface

The majority of net2MAX can be configured on the web using simple point and click. For example, normally clicking on the following link will make a phone call to 61290112121 by loading the Java web phone on your computer.

http://webphone.net2max.com/61290112121

If you already have a VoIP phone (hardware or software) you might not want to use the Java web phone. In those case, you simply need to enter your phone number on the web page and instead of making the call to 61290112121 from your java web phone, a call will be made from your OWN VoIP to 61290112121 instead.

In some cases, you need to customise certain features on the run. Net2MAX allows configuration from multiple channels. For example, you can configure your Web PABX from

  1. web
  2. phone
  3. SMS
  4. instant message
  5. database

all without programming.

Access to your Web PABX can be controlled by caller number, called number, timeof call, caller identity etc. Calls can be filtered, transferred and database records can be retrieved and read out all WITHOUT the need for programmers.

2.4 Better Profitability

Existing communication services force their users to purchase the WHOLE communication path from them end to end.

Net2MAX allows its members to use anyone on the market (including Net2MAX's competitors) for any PART of the communication path, thus allowing our members to access the best price/performance communications at anytime.

Multiple Pricing Comparison

The low barrier of entry into online services means that a large number of new service providers will be created every month. All having different features, prices, quality and reliablity.

For example, there are a lot of different VoIP (internet phone) services providing very competitive phone call rates to different countries. To take advantage of the best rates, quality and features from ALL of them, you can define your OWN mix of service providers to your own mix of destinations.

You can either let Net2MAX automatically select different providers based predefined rules you set or you can select different providers at the time of making the call by putting in extra prefix in front of the phone number to dial.

Multiple Pricing Benefits

  1. lower costs - access to the best pricing from multiple providers
  2. reduced risks - easily move between providers for different functions

2.5 Profitability Example 1: Provider Independence

For online services, a "good" price means low cost, high quality and many features. A cheaper service does NOT always have to mean poor quality or lack of features ... however in some cases they do ... and that's when Multiple Pricing can help.

Multiple Pricing allows you to select which pricing to use for which call either at the time of call by entering prefix 123 in front of the phone number 61290112121 you dial or before hand by predefining a set of phone number rules on the web (if calling 61290112121 using network.

This way, depending on your needs you can access

  1. extra features (like to show your caller id)
  2. better quality (like when calling your boss)
  3. cheaper prices (like when making long calls)

at any time, flexibly and automatically.

2.6 Profitability Example 2: Micro Billing

The unprecedented access to different pricing introduced by Provider Independence has to be balanced by unprecedented ease of use for the member.

Although Multiple Pricing allows members to create a list of pricing that delivers the best quality, rates and features, NOT everyone in the world would like to search for, apply for and maintain a list of accounts for the best prices.

Net2MAX allows others to do the searching, maintaining for you. Net2MAX uniquely allows members to SHARE they phone accounts with each other easily and without risk.

Members who share their pricing can make it free (like a company or a family let its members to use its accounts) or they can choose to charge other members (to make money from their effort or to just to recover costs).

The members can set prices outside phone calls, they can charge other members for their own products and services as well. They can use Net2MAX mature (10 years old) micro-billing platform's ability to bill down to the cent to bill other members for their own services.

2.7 Profitability Example 3: Payment Collection

Net2MAX backs up the its micro billing system with comprehensive and low cost payment collection service for its members.

For example, currently in Australia:

  1. Online Transfer (Internet and Phone) from debit or credit accounts in all major Australia banks and financial institutions.
  2. Over Counter (mainly CASH but also cheque and credit cards) from thousands of Australia Post offices and agents around Australia.
  3. Credit Card (Visa and Master) with one of the lowest online credit card merchant fee in the world.

Ability to collect CASH is very important since it opens up the e-commerce world to large number of people (like teenagers) who does have credit cards.

2.8 Profitability Example 4: Automatic Transfer

A problem with most telecommunication services is the the trade-off between the secuirty of prepaid and the convenience of postpaid services. A automatic recharge prepaid account will help in most situations.

Net2MAX is one of the first in the world to provide automatic recharge of prepaid phone credits back in 1997, where prepaid phone card users can set a threshold value on the web so when their balance is below that value more money will be transferred from their credit or bank accounts.

Net2MAX also offers automatic transfer between members, so a member (say the boss of the company or the head of a family) can control the how much to transfer into some other members' account balances should their accounts fall below certain values.

3 DISTRIBUTED SERVER

3.1 Increase Privacy Reduce Cost

3.2 Efficiency Example 1: Access Number

Toll-Free

Call-Back

Fax

3.3 Efficiency Example 2: Community Mesh

Traditionally there is not much to customise on the network side (whether it is for mobile voice or broadband Internet access), with Net2MAX however it is possible to customise the network side as well. Net2MAX allow the easy creation of private wireless networks that are INDEPENDENT of the carriers or network operators.

Network Architecture

The Net2MAX Community Mesh network is build by the members themselves, each of them contributing to part of the wireless infrastructure by attaching low-cost commodity Wi-Fi devices to their Community Servers and running Mesh software on those Community Server.

The area covered by the radios in a Community Server is called a "cell". Any Wi-Fi device within a cell can communicate with each other as well as with the outside world through the Community Server.

A Mesh network is formed when there are two or more overlapping cells. Cells that are out-of-range with each other can now communicate with each other through cells in the middle. As shown below, Cell 1 does not have the range to reach Cell 5 but it can go through Cells 2, 3 and 4 which provide an indirect path between Cell 1 and 5.

The Mesh has a similar architecture to the MIT Roofnet where people put antennas on their roof-tops to form their own private wireless network, but the Community Mesh is designed for our own set of requirements:

  1. Very lower cost
  2. Runs on non-dedicated commodity PCs (with other virtual servers)
  3. Air interface use commodity wireless hardware
  4. Can use any mobile routing as required (proactive, reactive, hybrid)
  5. Ability to be a Client AND a Mesh AND a Repeater AND an Access Point at the same time
  6. Use unlicensed radio spectrum
  7. Use different antenna types (high/low gain)
  8. Ability to have cells going up and down (self-healing network)
  9. Multiple radio design (at least 2 radios per node)
  10. Use multiple Internet connections (ADSL, VSAT, Cable, 3G, WiMAX)
  11. Indoor deployments (as well as outdoor)
  12. Allow mobile stations (users and community servers can move)

Currently the Mesh is based on 802.11 but it can be based on any cheap commodity wireless networking technology. Note the Community Mesh is NOT designed as the ONLY "last-mile" solution, with 803.11n speeds going up to 600Mbit/s, it can be a complement to other broadband technologies WiMAX, VDSL2 and FTTP.

Sharing Networks

The Community Mesh is ideal for sharing of external networks within the private wireless network. As shown below, there are 9 community servers running Community Mesh software forming a Community Mesh network (we call the area covered by the radio of each of these community server is called a "cell") and 4 of these cells have connection to external networks of some sort.

Those wireless cells with external network connections (internet, phone, TV) can share those networks with other cells within the same network easily and privately - without paying any data traffic charges.

Since the Mesh is self-healing with redundant paths, the sharing of external networks can be made highly reliable by having more than one cell within the network with connection to the same external network (e.g. 2 or 3 cells within the same Mesh sharing their Broadband Internet).

Sharing Devices

The Community Mesh can also be used for sharing of internal devices within each cell. As shown below, there are 9 community servers running Mesh software forming a Mesh network (we call the area covered by the radio of each of these community server is called a "cell") and 4 of these cells have connection to internal devices of some sort.

Some wireless cells might have some devices that they want to share (bluetooth, usb, firewire, dect etc.). Those devices can be shared within the network with other cells easily and privately - without paying any data traffic charges.

Integrated Computing and Communications

Besides actual hardware costs, having computing and communications inside one Community Server, save data traffic since a lot of data accesses (like disks or group calendar) can be served straight from the same server without needing to go outside. This improves both performance and security.

The Mesh runs the backbone wireless network on one or more radios and have a separate set of radios for the client network. This allow continuous high performance as more Virtual Servers are added into the Community Servers and as the Community Mesh network expands (enabling it to grow from 2 neighbours to a village).

A view of the Community Mesh networks in Australia can be seen here: http://network.net2max.com/

3.4 Efficiency Example 3: Virtual Servers

Unlike other customisations, which focus on simple application level configurations, Net2MAX's Community Customisation allows you to customise the actual servers you use! Having your own servers allows you to achieve better privacy, security, functionality and performance.

Best of Both Worlds

Traditional architectures belong to one of the two extremes, either hosted applications where everything is centralised or peer-to-peer applications where everything is decentralised. Either way, the user (that's you) does NOT have any control.

Net2MAX has an unique Community Server architecture that takes advantage of the latest development in Virtual Server technologies, allowing the Net2MAX Community to MANAGE what is centralised and what is decentralised themselves so the Community Platforms can be deployed at the most appropriate level to minimise cost yet maximise performance.

Unlimited Flexibility

The Net2MAX Community Servers can perform either Server Import or Server Access operations. With Virtual Servers inside, the Community Server can be any thing in the Information and Communication Technology world. It can be wireless base station, it can be a web server, it can be PABX, it can be a hard disk, it can be a telephone exchange, it can be a video broadcaster, it can be an internet router.

There is no difference between a computing and communications, every thing is software based, running inside its own Virtual Server on same low cost commodity PCs. Capacity and performance can be increase or decreased easily by moving Virtual Servers to different PCs in same or different location.

People who cannot afford hardware can use someone's Community Server, people who can afford hardware can get their own. People with network infrastructure can make maximum use of it and people out network infrastructure can build their own cheaply.

Your Data You Decide

Net2MAX not only runs its own applications on the Community Server as virtual servers (so they can be imported or accessed as required), but it also allows communities and individual members to run THEIR applications as Virtual Servers inside the same Community Server - easily, securely and at low costs.

You can probably trust some external organisations (e.g. Telco, Hotmail or Paypal or Google) to handle your information for you but can you trust their staff? Do you really want your contact lists, your locations exposed ? Now with Net2MAX Virtual Servers, you can have your data stored where YOU want.

3.5 Efficiency Example: Private Network

Time saved with port mapping, forwarding, selecting special devices.

3.6 Better Privacy

3.7 Privacy Example 1: Community Mesh

3.8 Privacy Example 2: Private Network

A problem with existing online services is that they have different applications, networks and devices:

  1. Applications - like Voice over IP, Instant Message, Web Sites, Disk Sharing
  2. Networks - like Dial-up, ADSL, Cable, GPRS, 3G, WiFi, WiMAX, Private (behind NAT or firewall)
  3. Devices - like Mobiles, PDAs, Home PC, Wok PC, Macs, Linux

They use different encryption, routing and identification process, making it impossible to interoperate with each other.

  1. Encryption problem - different applications using no or different encryption
  2. Routing problem - different applications using different IP ports
  3. Identification problem - different computers uses different IP addresses

Net2MAX adds a web based private network interface into your device, providing a SINGLE IP address, over a SINGLE IP port, using a transparent encryption that will work with ANY online service. This allows different online services to go through encrypted, with certificate based identification, on a single IP address and single port.

As can be seen below, the member simply click on "Start Private Network" on the web page and an extra LAN card (virtual) is created to access the private network.

The private network is based on the SSL standard and works across devices like Windows XP, Linux, OS X and even Windows Mobile.

Private Network is great for handling insecure online services like SIP based VoIP - by enabling easy encryption of voice calls, easy transmission through firewalls (via web browsers ports like https 443).

Virtual Private Networks are traditionally restricted to the big business, lack applications and have been expensive and difficult to use. Net2MAX integrates the applications (like remote drive and VoIP) as well as provide any one (not just big business) with a low cost web based easy to use interface - one click and it is done.

With One Number Integration, different online services can be integrated into a single well managed certificate based data stream that functions over different IP networks.

3.9 Privacy Example 3: Personal Identification Number

A problem with existing online services is that they rely on Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) or passwords that are static. Once people discovered what they are is (for example, secret download of keyboard logging software to your computer or recording the DTMF tones your phone make while doing online banking), they can make use of them immediately.

Using a single password is thus very dangerous since people who stole one password can access everything. However having different online services with different PINs and passwords is very difficult to remember, insecure to write down and tedious to encrypt.

Net2MAX introduces an alternative patent protected Disposable PIN that changes every time so even if people have stolen one PIN, it is useless a sit cannot be used again.

Disposable PIN provides integrated authentication across networks, currently it has been deployed on Voice (on our access numbers worldwide), Text (on our text addresses worldwide) and on our web site http://net2max.com/login

Unlike the login pages of other online services, Net2MAX actually allows the password to be visible, this is because even if other people see it - they cannot use it. Since it is integrated across all services, the SAME Disposable PIN can be used over SMSs, Instant Messages, Emails, Phones, IVRs etc. without worry.

3.10 Interface Example 4: Privacy Protection

The unprecedented ease of access introduced by One Number Integration and Public Interface has to be balanced by unprecedented privacy protection to the member and the public.

Net2MAX prevents direct access to the member by filtering out all the different voice, text and image communications from the public to the 1CC Number and pass the proper communications to the member's private Account Number.

Online Identity Protection

Besides performing the filtering task, Net2MAX also protects you by allowing you to either change or not change your WHOLE public indentity at any time you wish.

You can keep your 1CC Number unchanged for life (so people do NOT have to learn new phone numbers or email addresses as you change your service providers).

You can change your 1CC Number within a few minutes (so you can change your identity as circumatances changes WITHOUT changing your service providers).

Web Access Protection

In the demonstration above, 61290112121 has given access to everyone, but the Public Interface allows the member to restrict public access to http://net2max.com/61290112121 by:

  1. Anyone (No protection)
  2. Anyone who can enter numbers displayed (Captcha protection)
  3. All Net2MAX Members (Password protection)
  4. Net2MAX Members in the same community(Password protection)
  5. Only Net2MAX Members specified by member(Password protection)

Phone Access Protection

Instead of using the member's OWN phone number (like 61290112121 above) for everything, the member have a choice of using alternative phone numbers as their One Number - members can use virtual phone numbers that does not exist (like 00123456789) or select from Net2MAX's extensive list of real phone numbers worldwide (like 612123456789).

Advertisement Protection

Some online services fund their operation by advertisements, but not every one wants to view advertisements. Net2MAX's Public Interface does NOT have any advertisements by default, by the members are given the control of whether to allow 3rd party advertisement from other members and the freedom to put advertisements (their own or 3rd party advertisements) on to their own phone number's web sites, emails, sms etc.
