1 Quick Introduction

Dedicated Number gives you dedicated phone numbers in different locations of your choice for people to call you on.

People can call you directly by dialing a phone number that is dedicated for your use in their own towns and cities.

The main difference that sets Net2MAX apart from other phone number services is the intelligence it delivers behind its phone numbers. You can control exactly what happens when someone rings a Dedicated Phone Number you have picked.

You can use but you do NOT need an Internet phone to receive calls to the Dedicated Number, any phone will do (like landline or mobile phones). In fact, you do not even need to have a phone! An ordinary email box will be enough to receive voice and fax messages from callers dialing into your Dedicated Number.

3 Usage Procedure

Dedicated Numbers are just like normal telephone numbers, which people can call with any phone.

For example, a Net2MAX Member has selected the Dedicated Number 92716000 in Sydney, Australia (the full international format is +61 2 9271 6000), then anyone worldwide can dial it - just any normal phone number in Sydney, Australia.

For the public, there is nothing to learn about using a Dedicated Number. When they are given a Dedicated Number by a Net2MAX Member, they simply call it with their normal phones to get in contact with the member.

Unlike a Access Number, which is shared amoungst all Net2MAX Members, a Dedicated Number to dedicated to a specific member. There is no need to dial an Access Number first, using Dedicated Number is a single step process.

It is up to the Net2MAX Member to control whether the incoming call goes to their Internet Number, Fax to Email or Web PABX. Net2MAX Members can design different call experience for at different times for different callers. Please refer to Dedicated Number Usage for details on how to make full use of Dedicated Numbers.

4 Usage Example

Traditionally getting Dedicated Numbers in different cities around the world is very expensive and is out of reach of most organisations and individuals. Having a nationwide or worldwide Dedicated numbers expands the reach of a business by offering its remote customers the ability to contact them without having to pay long distance charges.

The main aim of the Dedicated Number is to allow the Net2MAX Member to receive calls from normal phones in cities of their choice.

Having the ability to receive Dedicated calls worldwide is particularly important for web-enabled businesses since their web sites are accessible by people near and far, basically all around the world.

With Dedicated Numbers, international and national Dedicated calls are now accessible to anyone from small businesses to teenagers.

6 More Coverage

6.1 Use Competitors' Dedicated Number

There are locations in the world where customers might want a Dedicated Number but OZtell does not have one in those places as yet. In those cases customers can go to our competitors (there are a few of them offering FREE Dedicated Numbers!) and get the Dedicated Numbers from them.

As long as the Dedicated Numbers from our competitrs support SIP (most do), then you can put all the features on the Web PABX above onto it. Making their Dedicated Numbers much more powerful.

6.2 Multiple Dedicated Numbers

You can select multiple Dedicated Numbers in different cities to increase your coverage or select multiple Dedicated Numbers in the same city to provide different experience to callers in the same city.

All Dedicated Numbers can go to the same phone or you can transfer callers to different groups of phone numbers depending on which Dedicated Number they called.

6.3 Many Locations

OZtell has more than 60 locations with Dedicated Numbers around the world, so more people can call you by paying the cost of a Dedicated call only.

7 Easier Usage

7.1 Real-Time Dedicated Selection

Net2MAX offers a wide selection of Dedicated Phone Numbers around the world. You can pick as many Dedicated Phone Numbers as you like from the list on the web. There is no quicker way of building up a remote presence in a far away city or an additonal presence in your Dedicated city.

For example, you can pick a number in Sydney and a number in Melbourne for your Australian customers then pick a number in Auckland for your New Zealand customers.
You do not have to get a number you do not like and you do not have to wait for your Dedicated Number to be provisioned.

You just select from a list of available Dedicated Numbers in the city of your choice. The Dedicated Number is active for use immediately afterwards.

7.2 Real-Time Control

You can select from the web where the calls ringiing into your Dedicated Number are to be transferred (e.g. Internet Phone, Web PABX, Fax Machine etc.). The control takes effect immediately - so you can quickly test it.

Currently there are 5 options:

1. Web PABX automatically transfer incoming calls to different groups of phone numbers in different order depending on who is calling and what time they call you. Playing and recording voice messages allows you to interact with your callers while you are busy. Voice Conferencing allows large numbers of people to discuss issues together.
   
   
2. Internet Phone automatically transfer incoming calls to your Internet Phone Number (899...). Allowing people without Internet Phones to call you.
   
   
3. Fax Machine automatically plays a fax tone and receives faxes on behalf of you. The fax is then sent to your email address. Saving you on purchasing your own fax line, fax machine and related consumables.
   
   
4. Web IVR automatically handles incoming calls and outgoing calls with a full suite of phone, fax, SMS, email, file, web, calendar and payment functions under your control form the web.
   
   
5. Silent IVR is the same as Web IVR, expect that incoming calls are not answered. The caller phone number is still detected however and is supplied to the Web IVR for further processing. The call is totally free because it was NEVER answered. By combining Siemt IVR with different Dedicated Phone Numbers, very useful services can be provided e.g. for example, sending out SMS to whoever that ring a particular phone number.

7.3 Online Directory

All Dedicated number assignment are submitted to official governemnt phone directories of respective countries.

You can change the details of your Dedicated Number at anytime via the web. For example, the address mapping to that Dedicated phone number, the listing status of the phone number in phone directories (whether you want it to be Listed (List in phone directories) or UnListed (NOT list in phone directories) or Suppressed (List in phone directories BUT without address).

8 Smarter Operation

8.1 Caller Number Display

You can see the phone number of the caller if the caller and their phone network allow for to see it.

This is useful when you want to see who is calling you.

8.2 Called Number Display

You can see which Dedicated Number of yours the caller has called (in order to reach you). This is particularly useful when you have more than one Dedicated Number in different cities.

Any other major use of this feature is when you have PABXs on your site, in that case the Called Number Display will tell your PABX which number the caller has called, so your PABX can transfer the call to the right person.

Normally, all phone calls to your phone has a destination phone number that is the SAME as your phone number (which makes sense since your phone is the destination of the call). For example, if your phone number is 899060123456 then the destination phone number is 899060123456.

Some large companies and call centres, however, have equipment that can handle having the Dedicated Number the caller actually dialed as the destination phone number instead. For example, if your phone number is 899060123456 then the destination phone number of the call can optionally be set to your Dedicated Number (6192176000).

8.3 Intelligent Answering

Allows Dedicated Numbers to call multiple internet phones or normal phones (landline and mobile) all at once or in order.

Allows Dedicated Numbers to go into advanced functions like audio conference, voice mail, messaging to SMS, MSN etc.

Gives Dedicated Number the ability to determine what to do depending on the time of day and also on the caller's phone number or the caller's supplied password.

Allow Dedicated Number behaviour to be changed by text messages (e.g. SMS, MSN messages etc.)

8.4 Intelligent Dialing

As the number of telephone providers (landline, mobile, VoIP) increases it is important to be able to manage the call dialing process so the calls can be made with the lowest cost, best quality and maximum reach.

Integration with Web Dialer function allows calls from Access Numbers to be made to Internet phone as well as Normal phone networks intelligently.

For example:

1. Depending on the destination phone number entered, Access Number can use different telephone providers' call rates to make calls.
2. Access Number can map a certain destination number to a different phone number for extra convenience or privacy.
3. Custom phone accounts can be used automatically on the fly to dial phones on private phone networks.
4. Internet phone numbers that belong to NON members can be also dialed just like Internet phone numbers of Net2MAX members

8.5 Intelligent Answering

The increase in worldwide reach of Access Number has to be matched by increase in the ability to process calls.

Integration with Web PABX allows incoming calls to be filtered by caller phone number, by time, by password, by voice prompting.

Extra features like concurrent ringing of multiple destination phones, voice messaging, voice menus etc. can be added from the web with the click of the mouse.

9 Better Integration

9.1 Fax Support

OZtell Dedicated Number support fax machines, so you can receive fax call from them as well as voice calls.

9.2 Free from Internet

All Dedicated numbers can optionally be inserted into Net2MAX's e164.name database by the member as required. This allows any Internet Phone to query that database and make free calls to the member's Dedicated Numbers from anywhere in the worldwide.

9.3 Toll-Free from Phones

All Dedicated numbers can optionally be register as a Net2MAX Registered Destination Number by the member as required. This allows any Normal Phone in locations covered by the Access Number to make calls to the member's Dedicated Numbers from anywhere in the worldwide WITHOUT paying long distance call charges.

9.5 Text Messaging

Text Messaging is of increasing importance everyday, from emails to computer based instant messages to mobile phone based short message services (SMS).

Integration with Web PABX's message feature allows text messages to be sent from Access Numbers to mobile phones (using SMS) and computers (MSN, Skype, Yahoo etc.).

The callers can use any standard phone to send text messages via Access Numbers, they do NOT need a mobile for SMS and do NOT need a computer for instant messages.

9.6 Text to Speech

Most useful information are in text format and changes dynamically.

Integration with Web PABX allows those text information to be read out from the Access Number to the caller in real-time.

This is useful for emergency notices (when there is no time to do a voice recording) or for fast changing information (like account balances).

Reading of English and Chinese text are currently supported.
