3 Signal Strength Indicators

Most outdoor access points supplied by Net2MAX has visual signal strength indicator LEDs on the body, so you can easily adjust it or its antenna for the best location and orientation.

4 MAC Address Identification

Sometimes it is useful to identify devices on your network by their MAC addresses. Most devices have the first 24-bits or 36-bits of their MAC addresses registered with the IEEE:

  1. Large manufacturers normally use the first 24 bits of their MAC addresses, called Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI), as their identification.
  2. Small manufacturers normally use the first 36 bits of their MAC addresses, called Individual Address Block (IAB), as their identification.

In a lot of cases, you can identify who is the manufacturer of a device by looking it up the first part of the device's MAC address from one of the following IEEE tables:

  1. Vendor OUI Table
  2. Vendor IAB Table.

Note, some manufacturers do NOT register with IEEE and some manufacturers requested privacy of their OUI or IAB, both types will NOT be listed in the tables above.
