1 Introduction

This page assumed that you have ALREADY read the Access Number Features page and the Access Number Usage page.

2 Usage Examples

This section lists examples of Access Number in use in real life situations.

2.1 Incoming Calls

Access Numbers can be used for receiving incoming calls from public to Members. Callers simply dial an Access Number and then enter the Net2MAX Members' phone numbers to get in touch with them. It is is perfect for parents who want their children to contact them toll-free from far away.

2.2 Outgoing Calls

Acces Numbers can be used to make outgoing calls from members to public. Access Number allows employers to effectively controlled costs of their travelling staff.

3 Usage Tips

3.1 Tips for Begineers

3.1.1 Speed Up Dialing with # Key

When you enter the destination phone number, you can get a much faster connection if you enter a # at the end of the phone number (to indicate to the system that you have finished entering the phone number).

For example, instead of entering 61292176000 and then wait for the system to realise that you have finished entering the phone number. You can just enter 61292176000# to tell the system to continue immediately.

3.1.2 Immediate Connection

If you keep contacting the SAME Net2MAX Member all the time through 138813 from the SAME phone, then it is possible to get the Member to register your calling phone number as a Verified Origination Number of theirs.

When you ring from a Verified Origination Number, you skip the last two steps of using Access Number. So instead of

step 1: Ring 138813
step 2: Select the language of your choice
step 3: Enter the destination phone number

you only need to:

step 1: Ring 138813

The correct language and destination phone number will be automatically selected everytime you ring the Access Numbers (e.g. 138813) from a verified phone number.

3.2 Tips for Experts

3.2.1 Direct Internet Number Calls

With Net2MAX, the international country code of 899 is reserved for Internet Phones of Net2MAX Members. To call a Net2MAX Member's Internet Phone directly, the Internet Phone Number is make up of:

  1. Country Code (always 899)
  2. Network Number of the member (e.g. 060)
  3. Account Number of the member (e.g. 90112121)

People can enter 89906090112121 as the destination number and the Internet Phone of the Net2MAX Member with Network Number 060 and Account Number of 90112121 will be connected to.

3.2.2 Direct Web PABX Calls

With Net2MAX, the international country code of 898 is reserved for Internet Phones of Net2MAX Members. To call a Net2MAX Member's Internet Phone directly, the Internet Phone Number is make up of:

  1. Country Code (always 898)
  2. Network Number of the member (e.g. 060)
  3. Account Number of the member (e.g. 90112121)

People can enter 89806090112121 as the destination number and the Web PABX of the Net2MAX Member with Network Number 060 and Account Number of 90112121 will be connected to.

A special customer service phone number 0 (zero) is available. Just enter 0 by itself as the destination phone number to call and you will be connected to customer service voice menu.

To speed up dialing customer service, you can enter # after the zero (that is 0#) as the phone number you want to call.

3.2.4 Calls from Internet Phones

4 Troubleshooting

4.1 Dialing Access Numbers

4.1.1 Toll-Free Barring

This is rare but in some cases, some phones might have toll-free number barring set ON. For various reasons, some companies and some phone networks do NOT allowing calling of toll-free numbers like 138813 in Australia and +80044551234 in some countries.

In those cases, instead of dialing National Access Numbers or International Access Numbers, you can dial the City Access Numbers.

4.1.2 Toll-Free Charges

Access Numbers are Toll-Free phone numbers. "Toll-Free" does not mean "Totally Free", it means that the caller is not charged for the long distance part of the call (the charge is distance independent).

In some cases (depending on the networks) the call can be "Totally Fee". In any case, even if there is a charge to the caller, it will be small (similar to that of a local call charge).

4.2 Entering Destination Numbers

4.2.1 Disabled Access

The most common problem with using Access Number is that the individual Net2MAX Member has NOT enabled the calling from a particular set of Access Numbers.

So, if you CANNOT get through AFTER you have entered a destination number then most probably the Member who owns that destination has DISABLED the ability to call him or her from that particular Access Number.

For example, if you enter 61292176000 as the destination number then the Net2MAX Member who owns 61292176000 MUST enable 61292176000 within the Access Number page in their Member Portal.

In some cases, Net2MAX Members might enable their phone numbers to be entered from one access number (like 138813 in Australia) and not for another access number (like +800 4455 1234 in Japan).

4.2.2 Member No Credit

The second most common problem with using Access Number is that the individual Net2MAX Member does not have enough credit in their account to enabled you to make the call.

Calls from some Access Numbers will incur charges for the Net2MAX Member.

So, if you CANNOT get through after you have entered a destination number then one possibility is that the Member who owns that destination does not have enough credits to enable that calls from that particular Access Number.

4.2.3 International Number Format

Only full international phone number format (with country code and area code in front) is supported as the destination phone number.

For example, if the Account Number is 92176000 the following are supported:
  1. 61292176000     (normal phone number)
  2. 89806092176000     (web pabx number)
  3. 89906092176000     (internet phone number)

4.2.4 No More Short Cuts

The following short-cut dialing methods are NO LONGER supported:

  1. 0yyy where yyy is the Net2MAX Member's Account Number.
  2. 898yyy where yyy is the Net2MAX Member's Account Number.
  3. 899yyy where yyy is the Net2MAX Member's Account Number.
For example, yyy = 92176000
  1. 092176000
  2. 89892176000
  3. 89992176000

For these 3 methods, the following full numbers have to be used instead:

  1. 898xxxyyy where xxx is the Net2MAX Member's Network Number.
  2. 898xxxyyy where xxx is the Net2MAX Member's Network Number.
  3. 899xxxyyy where xxx is the Net2MAX Member's Network Number.
For example, xxx = 060, yyy = 92176000
  1. 89806092176000
  2. 89806092176000
  3. 89906092176000
